One Year of Blogging – taking some time off

12 October 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well, I’ve now been blogging for a year. Even though this blog started in May ‘07, it didn’t really get going until Oct ‘07. So far 248 posts and 184 comments. I’d estimate 80% (198) of my posts are more like ‘meta posts’ (ie – pointers to other things, very short comments), with 20% (50) being more like a real posts with something at least original in them. Fifty posts with something to say isn’t bad really for a slacker hack hobby :-) and if 15 of those are at least decent – then I’d say that’s pretty cool! [wish I had a image that said beer, beer, beer...]

My top tags/categories over the past year are:

  1. Google – 45
  2. Advertising – 40
  3. Blogging – 34
  4. Microsoft & Just For Fun (tied) – 30
  5. Life Hacking & Search (tied) – 24

I’ve learned a ton and it has been both fun and rewarding. I am not done blogging – but I’ve got a crazy travel schedule this month at work (Athens, Oslo, Amsterdam, Berlin) plus a week holiday (France!) with the family. So, I am going to chill and reflect for a while. I’ll be back and I may even do a few posts anyway. Hard to stay away.
